Supporting Aslan's Army

Aslan's Army would love your financial support.  If you want, you can make a donation directly from this web page by clicking on the "Make a Donation" button below.  The donation button is handled by the highly-secure and confidential service called PayPal.  This service handles most of the online transactions done on eBay, the highly successful online auction site.  Millions of transactions are handled by PayPal every week in a secure, trustworthy manner.

However, before you click on the donation button, let me answer some burning questions:

Q: How is Aslan's Army funded?

Mark & Cindy Smith, the parents of Malori Aslan Smith, have provided a large donation that will cover overhead expenses for the next 10 years. However, we also appreciate any donations we receive through this website and through our personal speaking engagements.  In addition, our goal is to make our DVD project self-funding.  The more money we receive, the faster we can sponsor missionaries and provide the necessary support for missions organizations.

Q: Why should I give to Aslan's Army?

A: Aslan's Army has a clear vision to support missionaries and missions organizations.  We only support the highest quality individuals and projects that advance the kingdom of God.  By donating to Aslan's Army, you will be using your earthly resources to radically affect the kingdom of God.  When you get to heaven, you will be introduced to people that got to heaven because of our

Q: How will my donations be used by Aslan's Army?

A: All of your money will go towards fulfilling the vision of Aslan's Army.  Your donations will never be used to cover the "overhead" of the organization.  Mark & Cindy Smith, the parents of Malori Aslan Smith, have provided a large donation that will cover all of those overhead expenses for the next 10 years. Aslan's Army will provide you with a tax receipt and will vigorously communicate all of our funded projects with our donors through this constantly updated website and via a regular email newsletter.  In fact, all of our sponsored missionaries and projects are required to provide regular updates via this website.

Q: What if I want to give toward a specific Aslan's Army project?

A: When you click on the donation button below, PayPal provides a fill-in field that allows you to specific the project you want to support.  We will receive a transaction record from PayPal that will indicate your specific funding request and will ensure that your money only goes toward that project.  In addition, you will find similar donation buttons on message forums that are linked to specific sponsored missionaries.  When you click on the buttons that are located next to the profile of a specific missionary, the donation will go to that specific missionary only.  If you do NOT specific a specific project or missionary, Aslan's Army will consider your donation to be part of the general fund and will use this for it's highest priority projects.  Generally, the Aslan's Army's highest priority is to fund missionaries.

Q: Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?

A: Aslan's Army will provide a tax receipt for your donation and will send it to the address you specify in the PayPal service.

Q: Who is running the Aslan's Army organization?

A: Aslan's Army is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is currently directed by Mark Smith and his qualified board of Directors.  Click here to read about the Board of Directors.

Investing with Aslan's Army

Personally, Cindy and I have invested a significant portion of our worth into Aslan's Army. We think the eternal investment returns are well worth it. If you're looking to invest in the Kingdom, here are some key questions you should ask. (I have taken the liberty of answering these questions from an Aslan's Army perspective).

  • Is the ministry Christ centered and biblically sound? As our statement of faith indicates, we believe the bible is the inspired Word of God, we believe in the trinity, we believe in divinity of Jesus and his great commission.
  • Do its leaders have integrity, character, purity, and humility? As the president and chairman of the board of directors, I believe that the leadership of Aslan's Army has lived according to these principles.
  • Are systems and structures in place to keep the organization accountable for funds received and spent?  Aslan's Army is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All of the accounting is computerized using QuickBooks. All of the financials are reviewed by the board of directors on a monthly basis, and a CPA once a year.
  • Does the staff demonstrate a servant-hearted concern for those to whom they minister? That is really a question to ask our supported missionaries. I invite you to email any of our supported missionaries and ask them that question directly. We get regular updates from our missionaries and have gotten to know many of them on a personal basis. On several occasions, we have had missionaries stay in our home or we have visited them at their location. The goal of Aslan's Army is to serve our supported missionaries and missions organizations and to provide an excellent eternal investment opportunity for our donors.
  • How clear and strategic are this organization's goals, objectives, and tactics, and how effective is it in carrying them out? Aslan's Army's goal is to support missionaries. Our objective is to supply the financial resources and to network with other supporters to help meet the needs of missionaries and missions organizations. Tactically, we have a funding procedure that ensures we invest our resources with the highest quality individuals and organizations. Again, we're looking for the best return on our eternal investments.
  • How much money does the organization spend on overhead expenses and fund-raising and how much on actual ministry? As I indicated above, we have spent over $52,000 funding missionary efforts in 2003. We have not spent any money on fundraising so far. All of the overhead of the organization is covered by Mark & Cindy Smith, so 100% of outside donations go towards missionary funding.
  • Is this ministry pervaded by a distinctly eternal perspective on life, ministry, and resources? Aslan's Army is guided by an eternal perspective. It's what motivates and moves us forward. If you've read these updates, you can tell that the eternal perspective has weaved itself into the fabric of our lives and this organization.
